ABOUT PETER’S PORCH
A hot breakfast is served. Since we work with our partner agencies of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Community Action Program (CAP) of Lancaster County, a registration for “the needs test” is required to meet reporting mandates. Our distributions aim to offer groceries (based on family size) with, as events permit, fresh fruit, vegetables, protein (meat), and fiber in bread. We also encourage the participants to help each other with resources they’ve used to meet various medical and physical needs. It is a social time for those that need a friend. Those who help are also our partners to help others.
We continue to evolve and are working with Millersville University’s nursing program to offer teaching and medical resources for healthy lifestyles.
You are invited:
- Help serve your neighbors at Peter’s Porch.
- Donate food.
- Donate funds in care of the church for this ministry and the other needs that become evident from those who are served.
- Pray for the hungry and the institutions that look to overcome hunger.
We also partner with our sister congregation who founded this program:

Acts of Love
Acts of Love is an annual summer program supported by the Cocalico Ministerium to provide lunches (and a snack) on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the summer weeks beginning the week after school finishes in June and ending the week before school starts.
We want to help any child or person in need, but reserve the right to limit those who may be served based on the food available and the situation of each child. We encourage families in need to register when the program opens in May, but we give priority to those with the demonstrated GREATEST need.
When registration opens, forms can be given to the Cocalico School District or the church office.
We always need helpers for preparation, delivery, and distribution of the lunches. Consider helping. A small task with big results. Help grow the next generation by giving the image of Christ’s love and care. Food and money donations truly help!
