Summer Book Club: “The Sacred Life Of
Bread” By Meghan Murphy-Gill:
This summer, from the end of July through August, we will hear readings about bread. Pastors like to call this part of the lectionary
cycle “the bread summer”. Join Pastor Marissa for a Summer Book Club about bread and what we can spiritually learn from it! (We’ll also
eat bread made from recipes in the book at our meetings.)
To get a copy of The Sacred Life Of Bread: acquire on your own, or Pastor Marissa can make an order for you; copies are $16, and orders are due June 9.
The gatherings are at 6:30 PM in the Memorial Garden.
Monday, June 24: Read chapters Soil, Inactive Time, Prayer, and Faith and Doubt.
Wednesday, July 31: Read chapters In Place, Sourdough, Irish Soda Bread, and Ancient.
Wednesday, August 28: Read chapters A Common Loaf, Sandwiches, Practice, and Ordinary Bread.
